New release of our hybrid dummy fill tool, GTstyle

GRENOBLE, France, August 21st, 2007

XYALIS Announce an Advanced Methodology for Building CMP Models

In addition to all exclusive functionnalities such as roughness management or parasitics reduction, GTstyle v2.2 provides new great features:

  • Full Oasis compatibility
  • Management of multiple size dummy cells
  • Automatic interconnection of dummy cells
  • Management of non orthogonal grids
  • Critical nets specific keep away distance

GTstyle offers all the options to quickly generate dummy fill with any kind of process or design constraint.

  • GTstyle, as all Xyalis tools, now fully supports Oasis format for input and output. Both GDSII and Oasis databases can be mixed. This doesn't require any specific option as format is automatically recognized by the tool. Oasis format can reduce significantly file size.
  • GTstyle is now able to merge and replace groups of small dummy tiles into bigger ones. Iterative steps allow to build merged dummies of any size and any aspect ratio.

  • GTstyle now offers an option to automatically insert interconnection cells between contiguous dummy tiles. Interconnection can be done either in vertical or horizontal direction to generate stripes (or wires) as well as in both directions at the same time. In this case a full network of dummies can be generated.

GTmuch GUI As GTstyle already offers a fast and efficient way to interconnect dummies between layers, it becomes very easy to build a 3D network of grounded dummies, replacing the floating capacitance by an efficient shielding structure.

Interconnections between dummies are taken into account within density calculation as well as antenna rules if required.

  • The last but not least new feature of GTstyle is the possibility to manage non orthogonal dummy placement grid. An horizontal (or vertical) shift of dummies placement can be defined between two contiguous rows (or columns). Both shifts can be defined at the same time and do not need to be the same.

GTmuch GUI Non orthogonal arrays management is an Oasis feature not available with GDSII files. GTstyle includes a proprietary optimization algorithm in order to avoid a dramatic increase of database size in such a case.

  • Of course all these new features can be used simultaneously.

  • Thanks to its open interface, GTstyle can easily be integrated in any design flow to take into account critical nets and deal with specific distance rules to identified wires.

ABOUT XYALIS

Established in 1998, XYALIS is headquartered in Grenoble, and is now the leading specialist in layout finishing and GDSII/OASIS processing software. Designed to solve problems which the major ECAD companies do not address, the range consists of GTstyle, GTmuch, GTframe, GTviewer, GTcheck, GTreplace, GTpickcell and GTlayer. Conversion tools which translate GDSII to OASIS (and vice versa) are also available. Risc/UNIX systems are either Sun Solaris or HP-UX workstations or Linux.
