MPW Automatic Placement

Grenoble – May 4th, 2020 –  The new release of our Multi Project Wafers (MPW) automatic placement engine (GOTcross) for MPW projects brings new powerful features. Here are highlights on these advanced features.

The possibility to fill remaining empty space by additional chips has been greatly improved. It is possible to control the increase of the number of cut-sets required to retrieve all the chips after this operation.

Here is an example with a placement optimized by cut lines without the new filling max option:

Here is the same placement with the new filling max option at no cost. So we will have the same number of cut-sets than the previous example:

Here is the same placement with the filling max option and no limit on additional number of cut-sets:

Last but not least, GOTcross now accepts frozen sawing lines, i.e. predefined lines that cannot be crossed by any chip.
